That’s how I felt on Upwork when a client told me to write the whole blog post whatever way I wanted, and then instructed me to change more than 50% of what I had written:

“Delete it / Make it shorter / Leave this out / I don’t want this…”

She even told me what adjectives to use and how to construct my sentences. It wouldn’t have been so bad if her taste hadn’t been of a 19th-century school teacher.

I felt as if I were just another new soldier.
