Oh, you just can’t imagine what a big melting pot the Balkan nations are — Slavs, Illyrians, Celts, etc. by origin. Small nations at the crossroads of major civilizations.

Religions: Catholics, Orthodox nations, Muslims…

The political influence of Russia, Western Europeans, and Turks…

And still at each others’ throats because each nation is so “different” than the other one that we can’t live together.

I bet it’s similar in any other nation as well ☺

But the fact is: the poorer you are, the more passionate you are about nationalism.
