The maternity leave in the Balkans (Southern Europe) is 12 months. The irony of it is that this originates from the former communist heritage.
In Denmark mothers work approximately 5 hours a day until the children turn 18. A mother’s responsibilities don’t stop when the child learns how to eat and walk. In Sweden fathers are obliged to take a few months parental leave.
